install Vmware Tools for Windows 7

I got VMWare player 3.0.1 and I put windows 7 on virtual machine, so I can test out some software before installing on my system. Problem is I can't install the VMware tools, when I did the same thing for Vista, after the installation the VMware tools automatically installed.

Any suggestions?

If Easy Install fails to install VMware Tools (maybe because Tools were never downloaded), it may fail to "clean up". This leaves the product thinking that the VM may be in Easy Install when it really isn't.

The following is a workaround:
1. Open VM Settings.
2. From the floppy (or CD/DVD on some guests), remove the "autoinst.flp" file as the device backend (reset it to autodetect, most likely).
3. Optionally remove the Guest OS installer disc that is the backend of the CD/DVD device.
