Hi,
I have been reading posts on installing Windows 7 and I wanted to post my question in a new thread and maybe this can answer some questions.
I am currently running Vista Business 64 bit OEM. I would like to install Windows 7 Home Premium UPGRADE on this machine and would not mind doing a complete reformat and clean install (backing up is not a problem).
I have read that I will have to install Windows 7 Professional OVER Windows Vista Business and cannot install Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade.
My questions are as follows:
Can I buy Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade, reformat my main partition where Vista Business is and clean install Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade on the clean, reformatted drive? I read you can do full/clean installs with Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade.
If not, I also own a legal, paid for XP Pro disc. Would I be able to install Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade if I installed XP Pro? (I really do not want to go this route)
Thanks for your time.
Bob
