Install windows 7 but save one touch recovery

I planning to install Windows 7 on my lenovo s10 netbook. Im just not sure how it'll run on it and want to backup the one touch recovery thing somehow so that i can go back to the factory defaults if i want to. Any idea how? :sarc:

Recovery partitions are notoriously fickle, they just don't work sometimes. They are very difficult to re-install, no OEMs as far as I know include this on any OS re-install DVD.

The recovery partition doesn't work after installing a new OS, many cases reported that they cease to function after a re-installation of the original OS.

Most OEMs include a way to make a DVD from this partition, this would be my recommendation, then you will have that copy.

A good image backup is easier and less work than the recovery option.
Make a backup image before the Win7 installation, save it to another physical storage device if possible. If that is not possible keep it on a separate partition.
If you have any issues with Win7 on your Netbook, you can restore the image.

Just Created an Image. Now Making a Bootable dvd.
If i install windows 7, and then use the dvd it will load the factory defaults. Right?
Just wanna be sure.

If your DVD is made from the recovery partition, Yes it will return the computer to as it was the day you got it.
