Install Windows 7 from desktop vs boot from CD

What are the advantages when we want to install Windows 7 from desktop or booting from CD?

The only downside to those methods they have to be the same bit-rate and they are clean installs.

If the option to boot the install media is available, that would probably be the more reliable method.

From the disk, you can more conveniently wipe the drive and load a fresh install. Otherwise, you wind up with the Windows.old folder.

USB 3 -> Definitely.

Always boot the installer, during Custom install delete all partitions repartition as desired and format - or just click Next and the installer will create and format an install partition for you.

If you want to save certain partitions then delete the target C partition, recreate and format it.

But that`s not what you asked, you asked what are the ADVANTAGES.

But, to answer your second question, Booting from the DVD or USB is the way to do it. But if you had no way to save all your files you would want to do it from the desktop.

I see when you install Windows 7, you could get installation updates.
But I don't see it when I boot from CD.
