Hello.

I am running Windows 7 Professional (x64) on my HTPC. It's legal and I got it through msdn aa @ my school.

The thing is I would like to uninstall Windows 7 from that PC and install it on my gaming PC, using the same serial. I have activated Windows 7 on the HTPC.

Can I just uninstall and then install on the other PC or do I need to "un-activate" or something?

Thanks in advance

edit: I meant x64... :P

You can't deactivate afaik

So, once you've deleted it off your other computer, you just install it on the new one and try to activate. If it won't activate, call up Microsoft and explain the situation. I'm sure they'll get it sorted out for you.

All of my systems still run fastest on XP 32-bit for the most part. Win7 is fun to play with, but I still prefer XP for raw speed, security, and functionality.

Unless I misread something, the MSDN AA offer that was floating around our forums stated you may only install and activate each version once, otherwise to contact the admin.

I could be wrong though.

Probably not ;)

Now that you mention it, I seem to remember some limitations of the software I obtained through school (Windows Server I think it was). but I can distinctly remember using the same product key more than once. Perhaps times have changed.
