I see that WLM is no longer supported, and you can no longer download it. But is there still a way to install it? For example, I have WLM on an old drive that I no longer keep in my computer. Could I copy the program folder, and then install it on another drive? It would be easy if I had saved the download file, but I can't find it so I must have deleted it. I know this would not be straightforward, and may even involve registry hacks, but is it theoretically doable?

I have WLM on an old drive

You could try Easeus PCtrans free version. It is limited to transferring 2 programs.

I think you would need to attach your old drive, boot into it, install PCtrans and get it to transfer to your (also attached ) newer Windows nstallation. It can also save the applications to an image, which can then be used to "install" programs into another pc.

Well, I downloaded EaseUS, and it wouldn't open, some issue with "side by side configuration."
I also discovered that, although WLM on my old drive has all my emails, and can receive emails, it won't send any. I don't know if this is a con figuration issue, or if this version of WLM, which is from 2011, is already breaking down due to lack of support. I do have one other working version on a laptop, so the possibility remains of using a program to transfer it, but it would be trickier, as the two computers would be different. But I need a program that actually works. On the other hand, perhaps this is all a waste of time. There are good alternatives to WLM, like T-Bird, Em Client etc. I also worry about how secure WLM is, going forward, as it's no longer supported. The recent ransomware attack should make us all nervous. and make us patch our Windows 7 computers!
