I have Windows 7 installed across two disks, alongside XP. The primary SATA is XP (80GB) & secondary 7. However 7 seems to have it bootloader installed on the first disk (XP) & I want to remove & replace with an SSD.
I need to have the 7 volume boot under it's own steam before cloning.
I tried disconnecting the 80GB XP volume & running the three boot.rec commands. However /fixboot returns error & will not rebuild. Within disk management there is no boot volume on either disk.
If 7 is dependant on two disks being present, then it is twice as likely to keel over? What am I missing? Do I have to fresh install? Would EasyBCD work where install disk failed?
