Hi,

I am trying to install windows 7 on my intel D945GNT board. I am doing the clean installation is gooing smooth upto the "completing installation" step. Once it reaches that step after that its refreshing first time. Then it is hanging there.

:oI am not able to figure out the problems from the previous threads:confused:. I don't have any ethernet connection to that PC and even there is no graphics card expect the on board card:p.

Previously I was using vista, but now I am not able to install vista also. If I install vista also in the same place the installation getting stuck:mad:.

My system spec :

Intel D 3.0 Ghz
1 GB DDR2 RAM
Intel D945GNT board
SATA 80GB + 250 GB HDD.

Can some one help me out to solve this problem.

Cheers
rb

Welcome to 7 forums.
Do you have the most current drivers and bios from Intel?
Also what version of Win 7 are trying to install?
You'll also get more responses if you fill out your system specs completely.

So, you can't install Vista now either? Hmm. When you try to install Vista, are you doing a custom install and formattting the drive/partition?

err...where did you get the idea I wanted you to install XP and then 7? This tutorial is for accessing Device Manager before the Completing Installation phase so you can disable conflicting software drivers to allow installation to finish...

Please read the tutorial completely

hi,

sorry I didn't notice the tutorial link. But, I feel my problem is due to the on screen graphics card. In that cases what can I do?

and one more thing I forgot to tell, I have a 56Kbps modem placed in ma PCI slot. Will it give any problem.

Thanks

solved

I found the problem and solved that issue:). That is due to my old modem. At the end I fouund that there was no device driver available for that modem in Vista and Win 7:p. So only the installation given that error:p.

Thank you all for your support on this problem.:p:p:p:p

If anyone knows how to report this problem to MS plz rreport this bug. If there s a device in your PC then Win 7 don have the device drivers then it is not installing and giving the error.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Thanks

The problem of driver support/lack of driver support is not a MS problem.. it is a Vendor problem and should be addressed by them.

problem

I accept that vendor have to do that part. But, from MS they should remove the bug of hanging installation when there is no driver support/lack of drviers for a specific hw.:sarc::sarc:

In my case there was no driver found for my modem, so the installation go stuck when MS installation can't able to find the drivers for my modem.:(:( Now, what I am telling is " The installation should not stop/hang, it should complete the installation then it should notify the user that there is no ddriver found for the specific hw":shock::shock:. Will this be a right way to solve this kind of problem. ;););)

Thanks
