Solved Installation Failing

First, I want to thank everyone who helped me work through this. Every comment was thoughtful and meaningful, and everyone was very patient walking me through each step, so thank you!

So I decided to remove my 1TB SATA 6Gb/s HD and install the new 500GB SATA 3Gb/s one and installed 7 on the new drive. There were zero issues, everything loaded perfectly and cleanly, and I’ve been running it for several hours now with no crashing. I think I had a bad HD, SATA 6Gb/s cable, or motherboard port. (my new project is to figure out which)

Everything is running very fast, and no problems. Installed all my updates and much of the software I want.

Good to see you found the issue and thanks for the update.

Did you attempt to figure out the problem with the SATA III port yet? I have the same setup as you and im very disgusted that it will not work correctly.

Same Problem

I built the rig on Thursday evening and had the same errors when using the Sata 3 drives. So far I cannot get windows 7 to even format or communicate with them but the Sata 2 and performance of this rig is phenomenal. I have seen several post that the Sata 3 ports were defective. So far this seems to be the case for me.

Fixed!

Tried all the things suggested in this thread. Turns out to be a defective 6gs port. Just put in the replacement and no problems.

Love the board so far.... FAST!
