I have an issue with the Windows 7 OS that I cannot resolve. I'm a software developer and I am setting up a new development machine with Windows 7 on it. I have installed it with a fresh reformat of the c drive and the install works perfectly. It's what happens after the install that is confusing and frustrating me. I have a second hard drive that I split into two partitions which were formatted before the install of the new OS. After installing the OS, I load all of my development code on the first partition of the second drive and I install all of my development apps on the second partition (ex. Visual Studio & MSDN Library). All the apps install correctly but after working for a while in Windows 7 all of a sudden the partition that I install all my apps on is now unformatted RAW. It has happened twice now. I do not want to reinstall Windows 7 until I can figure out what it is doing and how I can stop it from wiping out my partition.

Welcome cvarga!

That is very strange. What brand is the hard drive your are putting your apps on? Have you tried updating your hard drive and controller drivers?

Welcome to SevenForums, Would you happen to have another hard drive to test with? I suggest that you swap out the drive that is acting strange with another to see if it is the drive or if it is Windows 7 install. Good luck with your problem.
