Installation Problem Error Code 0X8007017

So This is my 3rd install disc I made and I Re-downloaded 64 bit windows 7 no problems. Integrity was checked and succesful. I burned at the slowest speed 2.4x Also no errors.

Once I go to install windows 7 it jumps to 8% then 100% then i get an error saying Files are missing or corrupted. I don't see why I should have this problem since downloading and burning process went smooth.

the error code was 08007017.

I also disabled my norton or most of it.

Anybody have any ideas whats wrong I only have about 2 more discs left to burn =(

Welcome sebas215 to Sevenforums.........

You are trying to update to windows 7 from Windows vista Home premium..

First of all you cant update Windows vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate..
You can update Windows vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate..
You must have vista Sp2 installed in order to update.
Not to mention HDD space and all.......

ahh ok Thanks i will try that.

I have the partition and all prepared so all I have left is to install.

thanks very much for pointing that I cant upgrade from windows vista home premium sp1> to windows 7 ultimate
