I've been using Windows 7 Ultimate x64 for the past 2 years. I've been using an Intel D945GCCR motherboard with 2GB RAM. My system had some problems, so I planned to format it. But everytime I try to do it, it gets stuck. When I used a Windows 7 Professional x86 disc, it got stuck after showing 'Loading Files' with a black background. It'll show starting windows, but not even the logo would come. Same happened with Windows XP disc, after 'loading necessary files', it too got stuck.

My Windows Experience Index was 4.4, 4.5, 2.0, 3.0, 5.4. But one day my system started to hang up, get 'Blue Screen On Death', etc. It became very much slow and sometimes it wont start. I thought it was something up with the motherboard and it turns out so, as said by the service center guys (Display Problems). So I changed mine to Biostar G31M+. Now all a sudden, the Experience Index of 'Processor Performance' dropped to 2.2 from 4.4 (It is a Pentium D 2.80 GHz).

Sometimes when it gets a trouble to start up, I just press the restart button and it shows that I'll have to use a Windows Repair Disc to correct the issues. But since I dont have it, I just tried to format it with another version of Windows 7. And hence, Paragraph 1. (And I could not format my system after changing into the new motherboard).

What should I do?

I had used various softwares to check the functionality of ram, processor speed, hard drive, etc, but everything looked fine.

The Processor testing software showed that it did work at 2.75 GHz. And the ram worked fine in another PC. The hard disk had some issues, but I defragmented it thoroughly. Can it result in the corruption of OS? It was the C drive which I thoroughly defragmented.

Then wipe the HD to try install.

Reset BIOS to defaults. Set SATA controller to AHCI. Try flash stick install to see if it varies.

Is your RAM spec'd correctly? Fill in your System Specs in bottom left corner of your post. Test your RAM - Test with Memtest86+ and remove all but 2gb to try install.

I'll try. thanks.
