So I was installing software on my SSD that also runs my operating system and noticed that the SSD was getting full. So I cancelled the installation on my SSD but the space that the installation was taking up has not recovered. What can I do to recover the space that was taken up?
I have a 32 GB SSD running my operating system.
Before Installation I had 5GB of space remaining on the drive
During the installation, the space was reduced to around 2.8GB.
I cancelled the installation and the amount of space I have on the SSD is now 2.9GB.
What can I do to recover the lost 2.1GB?

hunt the files down the old fashioned way!!

the default installation for any program is C:\Program Files and C:\Program Files (x86)

then just look for the manufacturers name. it should be in there.

maybe its time to get a larger SSD? 32gb is very small even for an os! you can get a 240gb for less than £100 or roughtly $100 even half the size would do! theres little worry over space then!
