I have Windows 7 Pro 64-bit with a 128gig SSD (C: drive) and 2TB hard drive (D: drive).
Before buying the SSD I made sure it had enough room for the OS and all the installed applications.
I calculated the required space as being 60-70 gig.
But after over a year of use the \Users profiles became huge. Now I have only 130 MB or so free on
the SSD and I am scared about installing any new software, including upgrades to existing
software.
Following your instructions I was able to move the profile from one of my user accounts to
the D 2TB drive. That profile previously had 33 gigabytes, now has 20 Megabytes.
BUT the free space on the SSD is still only about 120 megabytes. I have emptied the Recycle bin
and also erased the restore point, disabled system protection. No increase in available
space.
Does anyone have any idea what is going wrong?
Thanks in advance,
Michael Bate
P.S. The directory C:\ProgramData\VS\ has 17 gigabytes. Not sure what that is, unless VS refers to
Visual Studio.
