It takes 3 min for the interface to show up after it loaded the files

it takes 1 min where it says "setup is starting" after you press install windows

Copying windows files takes 1 second

I get stuck at completing installation until I got a bluescreen saying something about hardware timeout

Getting stuck at completig install again if I let it continue after the bsod.

Any suggestions? It sounds like a broken cd to me, but it was fast the first time until I disconnected all my drives except the one I was supposed to install it on. (It wouldn't let me otherwise) I did this and a bios reset. I didn't set the bios up in any weird way either when I got the pc.

I'm currently reinstallig it, it's expanding files atm.

1) It's a DVD

2) If you DL'd it from M$, DL it again - it is available through the end of June.

3) if you did not dl from M$, see #2.

This might not sound like much advice, but it actually is - if you DL a second copy and it happens again, we can theoretically rule out bad DLs (although a very crappy connection could also cause that repeatedly). Then, we could start to analyze your hardware for issues....

Oh, and update your system specifications just in case it *is* hardware related.

Finally, of course all of the numerical advice above (other than my correction about DVD versus CD) is moot if the same DVD has worked on another machine - but still try another DL).

I downloaded it from Microsoft's website and wouldn't a md5 check work instead of downloading the entire iso again? I also remember the downloader Microsoft made did a verify check.

And I doubt it's a hardware incompatible problem, cause I've had it before unless the specification needs changed in from 7077 to 7100

CPU: q6600
GPU: 8800gt (dual monitor)
Soundcard: Firebox (firewire connected)
Motherboard: P5n-D
HDD: Western Digital something 500gb (SATA)

Thanks for the reply. :)

Edit:

Looks like it matches the md5 on most websites.

Edit 2:

I burnt (?) another DVD and it's still slow. I'm starting to think it has something to do with the bios settings. I did reset it and it all got slow and weird. If I can't fix it then I'm gonna install 7077 instead. And if that's slow, then I don't know.

Edit 3:

Update:

Got 7127. So far same problems. I'm at the "Setup is starting..." screen. Been waiting now for a couple of minutes..-

aand here we go

Should copying windows files take 1 second?

I just disabled a bunch of stuff in the bios (firewire, floppy disk (I don't have one but I disabled it)) and the installation is MUCH faster. Hopefully I'll tag the thread solved if I get all the way through the installation. :)

Edit:

Stuck at "completing installation"

The second one that is.

Been waiting now for one hour.

Finally.

I took out ram, and I found out that my wireless usb internet reciever was plugged in, so I plugged that one out. Oh and I changed the sata slot pos to pos 1.

Issue solved.
