Hello,
Thanks for visiting this thread and any advice you have.
The Laptop this is in regards to is a TOSHIBA A205-S7468 (not the C855 of my specs).
I'm finishing a few upgrades on this older, backup of mine (replaced screen, RAM upgrade, clean up) and the battery was in need of replacement. So, I purchased a new replacement on Ebay (I know, right) and it is working ok, but there has been a few red flags.
There was a brief episode with battery level and charge status, but I seemed to correct it by following some instructions on other threads here. It's now stable and 100%, HOWEVER, it reports it has 25% wear level and will only charge to 100% using 75% of it's capacity.
I've uninstalled (and then scanned for hardware changes) the Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery Driver (this seemed to straighten out battery level/charge status flags). Checked and made small recommended changes to power saving option (critical level, etc...). Drained it completely and recharged fully (per instructions).
Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or advice as to why a new battery would be limited to 75% capacity (and be 100% fully charged)??
