Sir,
I have 64-bit Win7 home basic installed on my laptop.
You see, my laptop has only 2 GB of ram as it is quite old.
I installed 64 bit windows about 6 months back out of curiosity. There is no problem whatsoever, but i want to install 32 bit Win 7 ultimate!
Will it be possible to install 32 bit OS?
If yes, please tell me whether the normal installing method will do, or do i need to do something else?

Yes, it will work using the normal method. But why go back to 32 bit, just leave it alone and add more memory when you can.

I would reinstall the licensed version that came with the laptop, Home Basic in 32 bit following the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

Very few consumers need the expensive extra features in the higher versions so why spend all that money when you already own a version more suitable to the hardware, for the life of the machine?

I agree, why waste your money on Ultimate if you don`t need it.
