Installing a custom fan.

Hello everyone, I have this motherboard with a 64MB integrated video card, however it overheats when I attempt to play Grand Theft Auto. I realize that this card isn't very good, and I plan on getting a new one.... I also have a 64MB video card that I could install into my motherboard, but would it overheat also? In addition to the cards, I have an abundance of miscellaneous parts, including fans and heatsyncs. Would it be an option to install this card, and somehow attach a fan to it? I don't see how I would mount it but I was hoping someone here could give me some advice. Is this a good idea? It wouldn't be permanent. Simply there until I can afford a higher-end card. On the other-hand, i would most probably use the Graphics card that you plug in, you'd get far more air around it. Adding a fan to it is stupid, if it needed a fan, then they would had built a fan on it.

Talking about fans, how many fans do you have inside your computer? Perhaps adding more to increase the airflow will help, but GTA isn't designed to be ran on a 64MB graphics card I'm afraid.

flatlin3d, I would save money on a fan and go for a cheap video card. I see that your motherboard supports AGP. Old school indeed!

This seems to be a good video card, and you will definitely see a huge boost in performance if you were to purchase it. Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 288L Radeon HD 4650 1GB 128-bit DDR2 AGP 8X HDCP Ready Video Card (I didn't even know they have 1gig AGP cards!)

I recall the 9800 Pro being one of the best cards money could buy on a consumer level many years ago. If this is a significant improvement from the 9800, then i think you will enjoy this card a lot over the onboard graphics you've been using!

Geeeeeeee's 1GB AGP Cards, More powerful then my 780mb, 8800GTX lol. And mine is PCIe.

I think if you want to run games like this, a whole computer upgrade will be needed i'm afraid to cope with the demand.

Just out of curiosity, how old is the computer?

If he's only playing GTA I think a video card upgrade is sufficient. Although the Sempron in there will probably suffer the most.

I also suggest a complete PC upgrade, but if you are on a tight budget, the video card upgrade is your best bet. Perhaps also if you can find a faster AM2 processor or "M2" processor as it says in your System Specs.

I was looking to get this card. I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate Danny, take a peek at my system specs. Also, GTA can run just fine on a 64MB card. I used to do it all the time, simply with one that had a better cooling system. I plan on upgrading several things in my computer, however before I upgrade to a better video card, I require a more powerful PSU. This 350 watt isn't going to cut it. I don't know how old the computer is, I've only had it for approximately 2 years. I realize it's a POS. That's why I'm looking to upgrade. FLaTLiN3D Also, I have 2 fans that are currently visible to me in my computer. I assume there is one in the PSU also. One is on the processor, and the other, well, I'm not quite sure, I think it's just used for general cooling?
