This is frustrating, just did a fresh install on SSD of WIndows 7 x64 and went to install the AVG disc and it opens up in an internet explorer window. How do I turn this junk off, does it to me now with all Discs

I bet it has to do with autorun options. Follow this tutorial to set the autorun correctly. The entry Software and Games should be set as "install or execute the program", and I bet that now is set as "open folder to view files".

Btw, I'd personally download and install Avira, that is still free and is better than AVG.

Was discarded by previous owner due to "horrible performance".
Was running Win Xp from a IDE drive. Yeah. Was a pain.
SATA II drive and Win7 and it zips away! Yay!
Just went and reinstalled os since had hddlugges at same time so os installed boot sector on that instead of ssd. Point taken though, avira is a decent one, I've always preferred the paid avg for the extra fluff. Did the bit defender for a time but tossed it when I found out it was making me ping spike to 500+ ms.
