Installing Graphics Card

I need to upgrade my video card to get Aero when I install W7. I have an onboard card now. I understand that I need to go into the Bios and disable it. I don't want to go in there and screw it up. I have an AMI Bios. I don't know if it is possible to give me a "road map" so that I know what screens to bring up, but I sure would appreaciate some help if that is possible. == One thing that concerns me is what if I change the Bios in error and nothing shows on the screen, how do I go back in the Bios and change it back since nothing is on the screen? == Also I am looking for a video card in the $60 range. Does anyone have a suggestion?

You don't need to go into the bios, once you install a card it disables onboard graphics. As for which card to choose in your price range the ATi Radeon 4350 is a solid cheap card.

Also, I don't recommend messing with the bios if you don't know what you are doing. Thats why pci-e and agp cards automattically disable the onboard.

I'm confused now. Where do I plug the cord on the card?

Some cards don't have the connector, but if you get one that does, they usually plug into the back of the card. Older cards have the 4 pin Molex (Same connector as an IDE Drive) but the newer ones have 4 pin or 6 pin PCI-E connections.

bigmck. If you would list your power supply make and model we could look it up and see if it has the proper power connector. Otherwise most cards come with an adapter which would connect to 2 4pin molex's then at the end a 6 pin connector for your video card. If that is what is needed. Fabe

I just got a new power supply a couple weeks ago. I have looked at it to find the info, but do not see it. I am going by the store to find out. == Let me phrase my problem another way. -- I am leaning toward this video card. The card you posted doesn't require any supplementary connections from the psu, Big.
