Installing HP 2710 wireless printer problems - offline?

I did a clean install of Windows 7 enterprise on my Sony Vaio. I have an HP 2710 wireless printer that worked fine with Vista. I have tried installing it using the drivers from hp.com & using the 'find wireless' printer function found within Windows 7.

It had no problems with either method with the install but it keeps reading 'offline' and won't print wirelessly. I even tried downloading the Vista software but kept getting an error message.

2 questions - one, should I download using USB from the hp.com website OR let Windows 7 find the printer wirelessly (both work). Two, how can I get my printer to read 'online'?

Thanks :)

I am having a similar problem with an Okidata C5150n Color Laserjet. It keeps showing "offline". There are no jams or errors on the printer. I am using a brand new Laptop and Desktop from Dell both with Win7. The printer has worked flawlessly for 5 yrs with a Dell emachine (now 8ys old) running Win2KPro and a 3yr old Toshiba Laptop running Vista. I downloaded the win7 64bit driver from Okidata last week. This is very annoying that it won't work correctly in Win7.
