Installing in XPM

I am trying to install a gamebridge adaptec in xp mode, but when I start the installation from the cd, it says that "Gamebridge requires a USB 2.0 port. No USB 2.0 port is detected on the system." Under the usb drop menu, the device is listed as unidentified device and I have tried attaching it and releasing it during the installation but nothing works. Any ideas how to fix this?

Is your host machine able to install this device? In device manager, under Universal Serial Bus controller, do u have USB2 controller listed.?

Yes I have usb2, but I cannot install on my host because the drivers only support xp, not vista or 7

Have you tried and updating your Intel Chipset drivers? Check in BIOS for USB2 and enable it if it's not. Somehow i don't think it's the port rather the incompatibility of the driver.

Yes, everything is up to date and the bios for usb2 is enable. Here's a screen shot of what

So you are installing it on XPM? If it doesn't work on your host machine, with no driver available for w7, there is no point in installing on XPM.

Even if you managed to insall the software, there could also be issue actually using the software to recognise that device. It all depend on the device and software. But no harm in trying.

XPM allows you to use applications that are xp compatible or design that doesn't have driver support on windows 7. I was running xp about 2 years ago and I had this program installed and working so it should work on xpm. The only problem is that xpm is using virtual usb or something that doesn't register as usb 2.0

Not necessary the case for XPM, VMs runs depending on successful emullation of host hardware. I have an issue using my Sonic RecordNow in XPM, installs alright but it does not detect my DVD-ROM when trying to burn.

How about insralling the program in compatibility mode? right-click the .exe, Properties, in Compatibility tab, choose your OS.

Well i believe that XPM integration is limited and is only as good as what it can integrate devices with the host System. Some devices just isn't made, or has not been supported with XPM.

Yes it works with XP drivers in Win7 after some pre-install tweaking.
You have to go into the install disc and enable compatibility mode for XPsp3 and Run as administrator, for every single exe file in all main and subfolders.
Reboot and install from the "Software" folder.
I'm running Win7 Ultimate 32bit. It works great.
