Hi, I'm about to reinstall windows 7 so I'm thinking of downloading the right drivers first to put them in my usb flash drive, but I'm a bit confused which ones to download.

My computer is:
windows 7 ultimate
motherboard GA-970A-UD3 (probably rev. 1.0)
CPU AMD FX-6100 six-core
AMD Radeon HD 6800

I went to Gigabyte website to download the drivers, and there was a driver called SATA RAID/AHCI.
Under SATA RAID/AHCI, there two options available: RAID and AHCI.

which one do I have to download? or do I need both?
What do they do?

working with wi7or8, there is no need for that. just have your lan driver for assurance. after installation win update will download the latest and most suitable drivers for your computer and OS..

I would disagree with defaulting to Windows Update for the motherboard drivers -- at least, initially.

My approach has been to install the drivers from the vendor's site, first, and THEN look for updates.

As to RAID or AHCI, unless you're using a RAID, then use the AHCI drivers.
