My drive is getting a bit full, and a bit long in the tooth so I wanted to put in a 500GB Seagate one that I bought and haven't used yet. Last time I tried to put the new drive in and restore from a system image, it didn't work and I had an error message about the drive. Sony told me you can only use the exact same drive. I've read elsewhere that cloning to the new drive should get round this, so I cloned the drive using Macrium Reflect Free. All seemed to be fine with the new drive in, but when I went to do a Windows Experience rating it failed to complete and gave me an error message about a driver.
I then did sfc /scannow and it said Windows had corrupt files that couldn't be repaired.
I'm just running CHKDSK now but think I shall probably have to put the old drive back in (again!)
Any suggestions please? I've put new drives in a few computers before but always done a clean instal.
