At the moment when you install Windows 7 it uses rather generic Microsoft drivers for chipset and other items on the motherboard. Im thinking of installing the proper Intel ones from Download Search Results but since they dont have Windows 7 drivers yet, Ill just use the Vista ones.
Im just wondering which of those drivers on that page Ill need to download for everything thats on my motherboard (DX48BT2) and any of its on board items like nic etc (I have a separate Creative sound card).
I've only ever seen fit to download the graphics drivers as all motherboard drivers work 100% (chipset/network etc.). I have noticed that i get 110% more control over my GFX if i install the Vista driver so hopefully Intel will update (although for the first time ever the pre-release WDDM 1.0 update has actually worked ).
My Intel board doesn't have on-board graphics so I'm using the drivers in Windows7 RC1. They seem to work perfectly well and I don't intend to mess with them until Intel comes out with actual Windows7 drivers.
I have a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3P motherboard. I tried to install the Vista version of the Intel chipset driver update on top of the Windows 7 RC.
The installer chugged away for a very brief time before reporting the driver installed successfully, but I didn't see any disk activity and the system did not request a reboot. The system works fine.
