Installing Win 7 on Win 8 System

I've read thru the threads that tell how to install Win 8 on a Win 7 system, but I have a new HP that came with Win 8 on it I need to downgrade (Win 8 SUCKS) a bit so it can dual boot. There seems to be NO way to do this apart from creating an image of the Win 8 system, then installing Win 7 (after dancing with the secureboot settings); is this correct? ( Losing 2 days doing this nonsense!!!!) Also, my 2 Win 7 disks hang during boot (have checked them both for integrity, both good); (System is a HP Parviloin g6, which has drivers for Win 7 on the Website, so I assume it can/does run Win 7). HELP please

As it's Secure Boot with EFI, you'll need to follow these steps to maintain EFI: Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7

If that still won't cooperate then you can Bypass UEFI to Install WIn7

We always assume you have made your Recovery Disks using the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Media Creator app the first day you had your new PC.
& made the Startup Repair CD.

Did you make the OEM manufacturer's Recovery Disks?

Ok, many thanks for the input guys, some good info; BUT when I adjust system to boot from DVD Drive, the Windows 7 disk ( Now 3 of them) starts the boot process, then FREEZES. Have tried a DVD install and a USB key one; the machine refuses to boot from the key (probably a setting I missed (yes it is first in the boot order ) No error output, so I'm at a loss. More Help Please

Do Step One first.
Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7

Ok, did this, and Windows says not a recognized as internal or external command, operable program or batch file:

1) Open an elevated Power Shell in Windows 8.

2) Type confirm-SecureBootUEFI

AS I said, doing this. Windows PowerShell - Open Elevated in Windows 8, results in the CMD prompt telling me it is NOT a recognized command! It was run as administrator both ways

Check in the uEFI/BIOS firmware, see if you have Secure Boot.
