installing windows 7 64 bits; need help

HI. i use windows 7 32 bits and I want to install windows 7 64 bits;

i download th 64 bits version, I put it in the dvd too;

But i can't install it; neither by mounting the imagem ad executing the setup(is says that i dont have the correct version of windows); neither by booting with the DVD, I changed BIOS and it dont boot wiht the DVD;

please answer and help me. i really want to install it

You must do a clean install of 64bit. You cannot make a 32bit into a 64bit. You will have to format and reinstall.

You haven't given us your computer specifications other than you're running Windows 7.

If you haven't got a 64-bit-capable processor you won't be able to install the 64-bit version of Windows.

There is no upgrade path from 32-bit to 64-bit Windows, it will have to be a clean install and the best way forward, after you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to save to external media, have a look at this tutorial at the link below.

i have read the tutorials and i still cant understand how i can do what i want;

Where did you get the 64-bit Windows 7 installation DVD?


If the Windows 7 install disk is one you burned yourself it may be a bad burn and needs to be done again, if so this would be the first thing to try.

Use the free ISO burner at the link below to burn another at a speed of no more than 4x and select to let the program to verify the disk before it finishes.

You may also need to confirm the ISO integrity.

Again: where did you get Win7?

How do you plan to activate it?

Agreed - if you got it from a legitimate source (Technet, MSDN, or the Microsoft Store) you should have the ability to compare the ISO you downloaded against the hashes available on those sites (CRC, SHA1, MD5 sums, etc) to verify if what you downloaded is valid and matches the ISO on the source.

If you downloaded it from anywhere else, be aware that doing so is actually a violation of copyright laws in the US, Canada, and most (not all, but most) European countries.
