Installing Windows 7 on New Computer?

Hi, I have bought a new computer without an Operating System. I have Windows 7 Professional 64 bit and the intention was to install the OS myself. I uncoupled the old creaky PC and connected up (correctly) the new PC. I pressed the start button and opened the DVD drive and placed in the Windows 7 Pro 64 bit installation disc, there was a lot of noise as the HDD started to operate and I thought that the DVD disc was working too. All the time there was nothing on the Monitor. I checked the connections and all was properly connected. I realised that I didn't know why the PC wasn't installing the OS.
The PC is an Ankermann Wildcat Gamer, Intel i7, 1 TB HDD, 4x3,40GHZ, NVIDIA GeForce GTX660 2048MB.

PS. I reconnected my old PC and everything worked perfectly including the Monitor.

Have you got the monitor connected to the correct port.

You should at least see the bios on the monitor.

Did you have a graphics card in your old pc ?

There are settings in the bios to change where you get the video from, either the motherboard or the graphics card.

Unplug all other HD's and peripherals,

Boot into BIOS setup to enable Legacy BIOS if present. Next check BIOS Boot order for an EFI Boot Disk and if present remove it, set DVD drive first to boot, HD second. Then set SATA controller to AHCI. Save changes and Exit.

Then boot into installer DVD or flash stick burned or written using tool and latest ISO for your licensed OS version here.

At first installer screen Press Shift + F10 to open a Command Box, type:

DISKPART
LIST DISK
SELECT DISK 0 (after confirming Windows 7 target HD #)
CLEAN
CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY SIZE=102400 (for 100gb partition, adjust as desired)
FORMAT FS=NTFS LABEL="WINDOWS 7"
ACTIVE
EXIT
EXIT

Next click Install Now, then Custom install to Clean Install Windows 7 to the partition you created. If it fails then report back at which step and the verbatim error message.

In addition read over these steps to understand the tools and methods which work best to get and maintain a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps are the same for retail.

After install you can adjust partition size or Create new partitions for data, etc. in Disk Mgmt. We are creating the partition here to mark it Active which overcomes certain install failures.
