Installing windows 7 update

Hi,
i bought an update for windows 7 and i had to download a certain file.
This file is a .iso file.
Then the next step sais i had to burn the file on to a dvd.
I burned the file on a dvd and when i put the dvd in my pc it opens only one file, a .txt file saying :
"This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system
that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification."
What should i do?

How big is the ISO file?

You can always use a program called DAEMON TOOLS. I use it cause i still dont own a DVD burner. But it allows you to run ISO files as if you have a DVD disc. Here is the link.

make sure you download the DAEMON TOOLS LITE version.

Everyone keeps missing it...seeing just a text file with "This disc contains a "UDF" file system and requires an operating system that supports the ISO-13346 "UDF" file system specification." Means the version of UDF used on the disk cannot be read by the current OS or DVD Drive, i.e., does not support it.

The alternative is to just extract the ISO to wherever with 7zip and run setup.exe from there.

I got that same error when I installed the W7 RTM, but I ignored it and the installation succeeded anyway. I used the tool attached below, but when I tried to locate it online, the following webpage said that it had been discontinued due to some GPL issue:

thats what i did to burn it on the dvd, the result is the same error

If it is a .iso file, then it sounds like the download must have got corrupted.

Can you re-download it again to a different location ?

Means the version of UDF used on the disk cannot be read by the current OS or DVD Drive, i.e., does not support it.

I'm not sure why everyone is skipping this, but this is your explanation. It sounds like the disc burned properly. I had trouble reading the original Vista .isos from TechNet on some XP computers.

If you need to access the files within the .iso for some reaosn, you can extract them with several utilities, such as the suggested 7-zip. If you are trying to install the OS, boot from that disc.

It isn't a problem though. It's normal behavior. Logicearth had the solution. If you want to see it yourself, take a Vista disc and try to read it in some various XP or older systems.
