Solved Installing windows 7 without creating user name

Hi,

I have a windows 7 desktop PC and i will be giving my desktop PC away to my friend and he has asked me to reinstall windows 7 clean install and install any drivers and update but then he wants to setup the computer himself like going through the first time setup procedure.

My question is how do i bypass the windows 7 username setup screen and use the sysprep tool.

The section of interest to you will be about Audit Mode section. I've never used it but it seems to achieve what you want?

Hi Suraj, welcome to the Seven Forums.

Our member Anxsds above is on the right track, Audit Mode and Sysprep are the tools to be used, but for this situation of yours you have no need to read that long post as we also have a tutorial for that exact situation where you are. Following the instructions in the tutorial your friend gets a Windows 7 PC as if it was a new one with pre-installed Windows. When booted first time, it has no user profiles or folders but instead asks for the username and computer name as any new Windows PC which is booted first time.
