Solved Insyde H2O EFI BIOS locked

Hi,
I have a problem with my computer.When I try to boot,it says "Windows Boot Manager is protected by a security policy." Then it checks for media and if I insert the Windows 7 DVD,it will say:"EFI DVD-ROM is locked." What shall I do?
Maybe someone locked the computer. I can borrow a similar computer from someone else.

Notice: If the solution needs cleaning the hard drive,I can't. All my files are stored in it (I couldn't keep them in my tablet).

Can you remove the HDD and hook it to another system to remove the files you want from it. That might work or it might give you a security warning as well. If you can get your data from it then you can go and do a clean install for windows.

EFI is stored in a chip on the motherboard,not in the hard drive. If I press F2,it will say "Enter Password" and it will beep a lot. The HDD is internal and I'm not good at removing laptop parts. When I say that the computer is innacessible,it is.

Not sure on the rules of the forum, for giving info on how to break a BIOS password. So I can't help but if there is an Admin or someone more familiar with the rules on how to get past a BIOS password then they could help.

sorry other then that. you could take it to a local repair show and have them do it.

I will wait until I get the answer (flashing BIOS is something I think,but this could kill the computer).

Yes flashing BIOS if not done right can just turn it into a cool looking paper weight.

That's why I don't want to flash the BIOS. I don't want to have a useless box which cost 600€ in 2013 and 350€ now.

Part of that message is likely due to Secure Boot, Windows 7 does not support Secure boot, Windows 8 does. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...e-firmware-interface-install-windows-7-a.html
The BIOS shouldn't be locked with a password from the factory, did you buy this PC new?

If it was due to Secure Boot,I would try to disable it,but if I press F2 (the button which gets me to the BIOS settings) it will say Enter Password.

This computer was bought in January 2013.

It is strange that it has a BIOS password set? Somebody would have had to do that manually, its not something they set at the factory. Not in my experience anyway. And even if they did there would have to be documentation to tell you what it was. Is this the first time you've tried to access the BIOS on that PC?

No,it isn't. I am somewhat experienced in BIOS or UEFI firmwares,but someone must have used the computer and entered a password so that I can't get in. It didn't have a password on the purchase date. I have used the firmware to enable Intel VT-x (for VMware),change UEFI Mode to Legacy Support (otherwise Windows 7 will fail to boot with 0xc000428 error).

Ok, I'm not sure what you do now? Forum rules restrict what can be said about bypassing passwords etc. And as you likely already know, removing the CMOS battery in a laptop will not reset the password. I think I'd be talking to who ever else had access to that PC. The manufacturer of the laptop may help, if you can prove ownership.

The only thing that I found to contact Lenovo is their shop site. I can't find anything else.

after going to the lenovo greece website under support I found an email. go through the options it's there.
