Overclock limits

With simple words,the main <<limitation>> in overclocking is the heat?
I wonder If i can keep my hardware cool or freeze enough if is possible to super overclock?
For example my 2.4GHz Q6600 to 3.5GHz or 5.5GHz?

It's possible if you can get past heating issues. However I'm not sure how high you can go with a Q6600 (again barring heating issues).

That isn't the only limitation. There are the actual physical limitations to just how fast the chip can go, at which point you can't pass no matter how much voltage you pump into it and how cool you keep it.

Agree. Which is also why I say I'm not sure how high you can go with a Q6600 chip.
