Intel has filed suit against Nvidia seeking a declaratory judgment over rights associated with two agreements between the companies. The suit seeks to have the court declare that Nvidia is not licensed to produce chipsets that are compatible with any Intel processor that has integrated memory controller functionality, such as Intel's Nehalem microprocessors and that Nvidia has breached the agreement with Intel by falsely claiming that it is licensed.

maybe Intel does not want Nvidia making crappy unstable chipsets for their hardware anymore?

wouldn't suprise me.......

I agree. I think it is time for Intel to step up to the plate with its own top notch graphics cards now that the only good ones are made by its competitor.

By legally preventing competition via licensing? That's the wrong way to go about it if anything. nVidia's dominance can only be bested with a full on assault by Intel and not by forcing consumers into accepting their vaporware.

They'll kick and scream until they settle this out of court.

There`s a rumor that Intel is trying to void the contract with NVidia because they have a new integrated memory controller chipset that gets higher performance than their chipsets
