intel graphics driver issues

I have my asus laptop hooked to my hd tv via hd cable. it works fine under the old driver, yet it's calling for an update and each time it updates, I get horizontal lines on my t.v. The screen on the lap top is clear and fine when i unplug the cable. I have to roll back the driver in order to get the t.v. to work again, but I'm sure the update is for a reason. What am I doing wrong? Am I missing something?

a system restore, i have also done. this takes it back to the old driver, same as rolling back the driver. which is fine, until it wants to update again. I would like to find a way to get my HD to work as it should with the new driver, as it should. OR another option would be to try and find a way to keep this thing from updating itself.

Remove the Intel driver and reboot then update your Intel driver in safe mode with networking
