when i try to install but ikeep getting this message this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software does that mean that my computer does not need it or is it because its windows seven i have a SATA hard drive not sure about the dvdrw and is an Intel 945 GMA chipset

Its not a matter what northbridge you have, its a matter what southbridge you have. This is for ICHx chipset, however even if you have it i think you need to have raid or ahci mode on to install this (im not sure, because since begining im runing raid/ahci and never tryed ide emulation mode).

ok well there is no option for that in my bios it says under IDE ATA/ATAPI 82801 GBH/GHM(ICH&-M Family) Serial ATA Storage Controller - 27C4

32dave, try installing in compatibility mode if you have a raid array, otherwise, you don't need to install it.

I tried both i don't have that device so i guess this computer doesn't have that option thank you both for your help

it messed up one of my hard drives. i'm not sure which one of them but it spins down and powers off and system doesn't respond after that. just uninstalled and everything is just fine.
