Hi,
I'm on the latest build 7600 (Supposodely RTM, and have installed it as Windows 7 Ultimate), however i need the Intel Matrix Storage Manager so that i can install the AHCI controller so i can access my other drives. However when i launch the setup it says

"The computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software.
Setup will now exit."

I assume this is because of the version being different to that of the RC, and it doesnt recognise it as a viable operating system to install the drivers on.

My system spec is fine, Q6600, 8gb ram, nvidia gtx260.

I was just wondering if anyone knows a way in cmdline to get past the installshield requirements, or a way to install the drivers? I have access to the iaAHCI.inf and iaAHCI.cat, however when i right click onn the iaAHCI.inf and press install it fails.
I know there are other ways to install it but i just dont remember them.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated as i really need the backups i have on the other drives!

Thanks,
Matt

Have you tried the newest Intel Matrix Manager? Else right click on the controller in the device manager and select update driver and point to the inf file.

This is strange. I encountered this same thing installing Windows 7229 on my SSD. I just tried again and it worked fine and I forgot about it. My disk came with my mobo and it's new so it may be a bug in the software. Just so you know.....others are seeing this. Don't know what to tell you....

Converting to RAID w/ Intel Matrix Storage Manager

Is it possible to take my existing hard drives (one with os on it, one blank) and convert to RAID (mirror) without loosing data?

Is it possible to take my existing hard drives (one with os on it, one blank) and convert to RAID (mirror) without loosing data?
Yes. In the IMSM there's an action called "Create RAID volume from existing harddrive". It's a typical scenario most RAID systems cover.

I have never gotten the right-click install to work on Win 7 the few times I tried - I usually get some "Can't install this driver that way" message.

Have you tried running the installer in compatibility mode? Although the latest 8.9 has Win 7 support. I use RAID so haven't used AHCI.

Go to Device Manager.
Select the controller.
Double click, right click - whichever.
Update Driver.
Navigate to the files.
Apply/Open/Install -whatever the affirmative command is.
