Hi.....I just installed irst 10.6.0.1002 on a Gigabyte Z68 motherboard.I was running 10.5.0.1027 fine before this. Actually the system appears to be running fine at this new level driver. The problem I'm seeing is that after the irst service starts up I get a small irst error box saying I need to install 10.5.0 or higher;and I need to OK the message to make it go away.I beleive it's a false error detected in the service because 10.6.0.1002 is the latest and greatest.Has anyone seen this error or have a solution to it?
Thanks
Larry

It's a Gigabyte Z68X-UD3H-B3,The error occurs right after the IRST service starts up saying IRST error,Please install irst 10.5 or above and a OK button.I ok the window and everything is fine until the next time i boot the system. All the programs run fine and the Smart Response SSD Caching seems to be running ok.

Yes.....Actually I don't get the message until the IRST service starts up; mine is on a delayed start-up after booting Windows 7.The service starts after a few minutes.I beleive it's a false error in that service not reconizing the new driver(10.6.0.1002).I've been tempted to back down to the old sata driver (10.5.0.1027) and see if the error goes away.

Well I'm using the exact drivers have no issues. Remove the IRST package and try reinstalling it again.
Make sure you remove the package through Programs and features in the control panel. BTW that package should be installing the drivers as well, so there's no need to install the driver separately.
They've also been up on that Intel link for over a week saying 1022. Koroush is a little late in posting some things. Makes people think they just came out.

I had exactly the same error message after "upgrading" to 10.6...
For other reasons I rebuilt and went back to 10.5. I suspect that your conclusion is correct and that it is poor attention to detail on the part of Intel when they released the new version. Wonder what else they missed?

On another note I found out the hard way it didn't like me adding my Areca 1210 RAID card and installing the drivers for it. BSOD and many problems with the on board RAID. I could not longer get into windows after installing all my programs and etc. Had to start fresh again.
Using a single ssd with a very large HDD. Things are very smooth now. I also decided not to install those so called newer drivers for ISRT. Using the off the disk drivers and all is nice and sound.
FIXED - I have had this problem on one of my computers and not the other one with both having the same exact build and it has been driving me crazy. How to fix it, go to control panel and uninstall the program SMC B11.0511.01 it is gigabytes install of intels smart response, but the smart response already comes with the "intel rapid storage technology" program. I uninstalled it and I don't get the stupid message and I am still accelerated by irst.
