i was just wondering. i have an intel processor on my pc, but when i was running mse, it's scanning files for amd64. is there a reason for this?

AMD64 = 64-bit
I386 = 32-bit

You'll see AMD64 referred to quite a bit with 64-bit related files/folders on Windows. Its quite normal.

Intel uses AMD's method of 64 bit processing, since it was much closer to true x64 then Intel's method was. In fact Intel's own design (Itanium) wasn't backwards compatible with 32 bit. AMD generated a good amount of buzz with AMD64 even though it wasnt too useful at that time, so Intel decided not to reinvent the wheel and just used AMD's way.
