I have a dell xps 420 and recently installed windows 7 32 bit. I am now having a problem with the sound that I never had before. Randomly when chatting with people in ventrilo the outbound (microphone) will go haywire and produce incredibly loud static that will not go away without reconnecting to vent. It also does it over in game voice chat so Im not sure if its a ventrilo problem but I never had it before. My card it a dell version of the Creative x-fi extremegamer known as the SB0770.
I've read that there has been some compatibility issues between the SB0770 and windows 7. Is there any known fix for this (according to creative I have all the latest drivers but Im not sure that their drivers work with this dell brand of their card) Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
