Problem resolved

Hi everyone, I know this thread is a few months old but I believe the problem you are having occurs because the Windows file "Logonui.exe" is missing from the "%Systemroot%\System32" folder. By replacing that file the problem should be resolved.

Greg.

Worked for me and for those wondering how to do that get a live copy of linux and start your computer with it, I used Ubuntu installed on a flash disk. Open the folder containing your windows install and search for Logonui.exe. Copy it when you find it and these paste it back into the windows/System32 folder. Reboot and you're back in business.
