I'm sure it's not an original idea but something dawned on me whilst gaming on my PC, and my girlfriend was complaining about something on her laptop. We're in the same room using 2 different computers which i suppose is fine. My thought being though that pc's are getting better and better my desktop having a nice 6 core processor and knowing there are 8 cores out there. Wouldn't it be nice to be able to have 2 users simultaneously using the same PC. I do enjoy my gaming but typically my girlfriend is just looking at her twitter feed/facebook, or doing emails. We did used to just have one pc and it was always a pain fighting over the computer so why not have windows set up for 2 or maybe even more users at the same time maybe just having an additional keyboard/monitor.

Interesting idea, but that is not what Windows 7 is designed for. Not even sure if the server versions of Windows support this, but that is not really my expertise.

This is something that UNIX is designed to do, by default. When I did my graduate studies, we had ONE computer with 500+ people logged onto it (it was an IBM RS6000 computer). The specs on that computer are not even as good as my old laptop, but it sure handled the load seamlessly :-). Today I work a lot on UNIX servers at the office, and all of them are multi-user.

Good idea, but not really Windows 7's core competency ..

I will have to look... probably something I 'StumbledUpon' in the past, but I believe such a beast exists for Windows.

I'll try and be quick on this... 2 users, one system... shared resources... Pretty sure I've seen this...

Gimme a minute... :geek:

Update: I could not find exactly what I was looking for in my 'StumbleUpon' favorites... but I did find this... and it looks kinda *sexy*... Might be what you need!

Yah, I just read through the system specs and licensing... I think this is what you are looking for... and it's NOT really really expensive either. Got me scratching my head now...
