Hey

Ive spent a bit on building my rig a few months back and my integrated graphics is holding me back a little so i was wondering if anybody knows of a card i could get that's not massively better but like 20-25% better.
budget is an issue but i would like a separate graphics card so my rig can finally use all 4gb to what it needs, i will be purchasing another 4gb module soon so ill have a comfortable 8gb.

At the mo im running a AMD APU A6 5400k with HD Radeon 7540D with 2gb assigned to the Graphics

id preferably like to stay with AMD devices and avoid nvidia (countless issues in the past putting it with an AMD CPU, im just unlucky there lol)

any help would be great :)

if Ive missed any info you need just ask

Might want to pair that APU with a GPU that would give it hybrid Crossfire either that or spend like 180.00 on a decent solution

I thought it being a APU it used the cpu power?
how would i pair it?

i dont nothing fancy just somthing thats either identical or slightly better than the intergrated,
alot of my games are more CPU and RAM hungry than graphics but some it be nice to have full 4gb ram and a seperate GPU

my last rig had intergrated an i couldnt even run juiced 2, bought a HD radeon 5450 which was about 3% better an juiced ran like a dream

Get an HD7850. Your PSU won't handle much over that and your APU would start bottlenecking if you went any higher anyway.

Bottlenecking? Can You Dumb It Down For Me Lol, I understand The Expression But How Is What im Asking. What Watt PSU Would You Recomend? I Need To Swap The One I Have Anyway As Its Unbranded And Ive Noticed The Voltages Fluctuate A Bit, Most Likely Because Its Unbranded And Only Cost 34.99 Back in 2012.

p.s i dont exsacly have 200 quid, i did say budget IS a problem

I always recommend Corsair PSUs (Seasonic are top quality too, I've just never used them) but they don't come cheap. My advice on that score would be to save up and invest in a good one when you can.

As for the GPU, if you go too high a spec the GPU will be waiting for the APU to catch up, basically the APU won't be able to process the game as quick as the GPU can render the graphics. I have an A10-5800k in my backup rig with an HD7850-DC2T and it struggled to handle Bioshock Infinite. A 450W PSU will handle a 7850 so that will lower the cost considerably, but I'd go for a 500W for some headroom.

You have a Dual core processor which is really weak any GPU you get will often be burden to take the load for the life of me i still don't get why they make Dual Core CPU's anymore it's begging for setbacks

Kingmilez1205, I think what they are saying is that all of your components need to be pretty evenly matched. If one component is faster than the other, then it will slow everything down. A dual core CPU will struggle to keep up with a demanding game, but will usually do it. But, if you had a very fast GPU, the CPU would keep the GPU from performing as well as it is capable. I hope that explains the basics a little.

Because in my opinion, People would rather have a pure dual core rather than getting a dual core that is hyper-threaded. :)

Sorry it's been a while, I must express thanks for all the replys I've taken the advise and looked into. CPU / ram and graphics upgrades, ram upgrade is first as the price is low atm so gonna nab 2x4gb modules while they are down before they go up again ha, thank you all again for your help it really made things simpler :-)
