Intermittent BSOD

This BSOD is happening to a customer of mine. It happens at any given time not when any particular application is running (that's not already running in the background) up to twice a day so far.

Do you have any antivirus?

Run these tools and delete anything they may find:

• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

ESET online scanner:

Recommended antivirus program for Windows 7 based on stability compared to others:-

• Microsoft Security Essentials - Free Antivirus for Windows
• Malwarebytes - The Free version

:warn: Do not start the free trial of Malware Bytes; remember to deselect that option when prompted.

Run a full scan with both (separately) once downloaded, installed and updated.

Free up the start-up, nothing except the antivirus is usually needed.

Run the System File Checker that scans the of all protected Windows 7 system files and replaces incorrect corrupted, changed/modified, or damaged versions with the correct versions if possible:

• Click on the rb:
• Type CMD on Search
• Left click and Run as Administrator
• Type SFC /scannow

The BSOD seem to be caused by very old Netgear Neutral Wireless Solution Drivers.

We have malwarebytes on the machine and MS security essentials. I Will run a scan with TDSSKiller and Autoruns. I was leaning towards a driver and never thought of virus or malware. Thank you I will start there
