I'm a pc gamer and I'm currently stuck with a Sony Vaio laptop because of money problems.
For some reason, when in teamspeak 3, raidcall, or ventrillo while doing anything slightly graphic intensive (like play any video game or surf the internet) my audio input starts to sound crazy. My friends keep saying that my computer is haunted because it sounds so bad.

I have a brand new input/output jack headset that works fine on other computers and I have the most up to date audio driver possible for my laptop. I don't know what else I can do to fix it. Any suggestions?

What is the specs on the Sony? e.g. CPU and amount of memory.

Was this originally supplied with some other OS and upgraded to Win 7?

Its a Sony Vaio VPCEH17FX
Intel Core i5-2410M, Dual core, 2.30-2.90GHz (some boost crap, idk) and 3MB cache
4GB memory, DDR3/1333MHz

It originally came with windows 7 but the day I got it, it got malware and we essentially redownloaded all the original drivers from the Sony support site (http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model...te_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downloadTab) and restored it because it wouldn't do anything. I've since redone all the drivers and the updates in attempts to fix various problems.
I'm willing to bet that this is the root of all my problems, however I've found no way to fix anything.

One thing that sticks out. You only have 4GB of RAM but a 64 bit OS. The main reason for using a 64 bit OS, over a 32 bit, is that is will address more than 4GB of RAM. With only 4 GB of RAM you would be better of with a 32 bit OS as it does not use as much of the 4GB as a 64 bit OS does.

Or, if you want to keep the 64 bit OS, install more memory. Memory can be a major issue with gaming or video intensive operations. This also only has the Intel HD graphics, rather than a separate video card and that involves using more RAM for the video.

Thanks! I was thinking about getting more memory so I guess I have a real reason to now.
