Internal optical drive for notebook pc

Is the optical drive as shown below compatible with any brand of notebook pc? There is a variety of brands but the external looks appear the same.

Churin, Most of the internal dvd drives are pretty interchangeable with one another. They do have two models with different electrical connections. I would take the old one out and take a look at it and then decide if they look identical in electrical connections, they you should be good to go.
