Internal speakers not turning off while inserting headphones

I've Dell N5010 laptop with Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit

and IDT sound drivers.

The issue I'm facing is that:
"The speakers would continue playing even though I plug in my headphones."

Both of them work simultaneously...

Pls advice me of something quickly............this problem is really annoying

Check to see if you have an IDT configuration (control) panel. Many sound systems have options for either muting or leaving the speakers on when a headset is connected.

If you don't have one or can't find it, repost on the Dell Laptop users forum. Someone there will be able to help you. http://en.community.dell.com/support-forums/laptop/default.aspx

No....I can't see such an option in IDT configuration.
