Internet connection cutting out when streaming

The facts:

Recently I've gotten a new modem and router and ever since I have been experiencing internet disconnections randomly while watching things on different streaming sites (twitch.tv, netflix, hulu, hbogo, etc). The disconnect will sometimes occur during file downloads or while watching youtube, but not nearly as often as the streaming sites. I know the immediate assumption is that it's something in the router or modem. However, every other device that is hard wired or running wireless off the router does not experience this issue. That would be my ps3 which is hard wired doesn't have this issue, my macbook runs fine on wireless and hard wired, and all my tablets and phones run fine as well.

I've tried many different things to remedy this problem. I've updated all my drivers to the most current versions, reset my tcp/ip stack, disabled my firewalls (didn't help turned them back on), booted in safe mode (didn't help either), and I'm sure a couple other things I'm forgetting now. I've looked high and low for a remedy to this problem and I can't seem to find anything that helps.

Define "Internet disconnections". Do you mean your router loses connection to modem, modem loses connection to ISP, or computer itself loses connection to router?
