internet connection

Hello
I have read many post in the forum but dont seem to find the solution yet. My issues is as follows
I am using dlink router for the net connection. Initially I had no issues connecting through wifi but recently I seem to have net connection issues. While running the trouble shoot, it shows I am connected to the router but there is no net connection and gets the message dns server not responding. After couple of disconnection and running troubleshoot, I get the connection back but again the problem surfaces after some time. Hence I ran the connection through LAN but still the problem persist
One thing I noticed is that the internet led on the router is not lit for a few seconds when I have this problem and when the light come back then only the connection is resumed. Does it mean the issue is with the router ?? Is there any way to rectify this as I have reset the router couple of time but still it the problem persist. I am using zone firewall if it helps .

It looks like you have a connection to the router here although the extra tunnel adaptors can cause problems.

How many more of the tunnel adaptors are showing up on this list?

Have you tried changing the wireless channel in your router's control panel?

There is no more tunnel adapter on the list.Regarding the wireless channel, I have not changed it from the default. The snap shot is enclosed to understand the info asked was the same. Just for your info , I also use netbook to connect to the router

I'm not sure why there is two default gateways showing up for your DNS server, there should only be one normally.

Have you tried to designate the DNS server in the routers set up page?

Using Google DNS usually works well, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4.


If the connection is still dropping out try using a different wireless channel, there could be channel overlap in your area which can cause this problem. Best to find a clear channel using the Xirrus wifi channel scanner, "link below".
