Internet Explorer 9

Forgive me if this isn't the right place for this message, feel free to move it or delete it.

Tonite I had time to turn on my Laptop, Windows 7 Premiun, there were 87 new updates.
I took my time installing them all, I thought I had un-ticked IE 9, NOT so.
I didn't want it, I did finally find it and un-installed it, until I can get used to IE 8.

What are your thoughts on I E 9 ?...I trust on this matter.

If you are going to use IE then use IE9 as it's far more compliant with modern web standards and IE8 is obsolete.

IE 9 works much better for my laptop since it loads websites much faster than IE 8. It also uses less CPU for my laptop giving me much more battery life. Also more complex websites that use a lot of javascript are more compatible and work better in IE 9. If the user interface is the only reason you hate IE 9, you can make it look close to IE 8 by showing tabs on separate row, showing the status bar and the menu bar.

Thanks for your reply.. then I should go right back and download I E 9 again,
make the needed changes ,so it's looking like what makes me a happy camper.
I'll try to get to this tomorrow if at all possible.

I uninstalled the one that was in the updates last evening ?

If it gets screwed up just uninstall Chrome and install anew.

Why chance messing up IE.

Mike that's my idea of using Chrome as well..
I'll like IE 9 when I get the hang of it, my laptop already had W7 premium, 32 bit and 64 bit when I bought it , that way I'm ready when the 32 bit is no longer working.

Layback Bear hi.. that is also one of the reasons I want IE on my machines, ( those updates ), just show up when they are ready for me to do something about , mine
are set to , notify me but don't download and install.. that's just the way I love it .
Yes, I do think Microsoft may well have a hand in the till.... lol

I finally broke down and made the jump from ie8 to ie9 myself. It took a little bit of getting use to, but using a more secure web browser is getting to be more important all the time. Just think, if I remember correctly you made the jump from ie7 to ie 8 on your XP machine and now you are going from ie8 to ie9. Don't you just love change?

LittleJay.. you jest, lol....I do love change.. it's just getting used to it, and having to reset so much. I'm not really fond of the HOME icon way off to the right on the address bar.along with a few more, when I'm back using the laptop.. I'll try to get a screen shot of mine.. then we can do a little adjusting on things.

I totally agree about the Home Icon. But if you right click up above on the address bar, you will get a list of other menus and if you click in front of the "Command bar" it will show up just below the address bar. Then, once you can see the command bar, right click on that and you will see a "customize" option at the bottom of the menu. Move your cursor over "customize" and it will open another menu to the right where you can "add or remove commands". Click on it and you will see two menus. The one of the left is a list of commands you can add and the one on the right is a list of commands that are already in the list. One of the commands you can add, if it isn't already available, is the "home" icon. Once the "home" icon is in the list on the right, then you can click on it and use the down arrow option to move it to the bottom of the list, which means it will show up on the far right side of the Command bar, where it is easy to see and access. Do I have you thoroughly confused now? Please feel free to ask any questions and I will try my best to answer them.
