Solved Internet Explorer resolution

Although I have a 1600x1200 monitor, whenever I launch internet Explorer 9 the text and graphics are really large. For example if I search for something on Google I can only see 2-3 items listed without needing to scroll down. I also have Win7 and IE9 installed on a separate partition on the same machine but they seem perfectly normal. Carrying out the same Google search will list 6-8 items without me needing to use the scroll bar. Everything else (icons and other apps etc) looks identical on both installations. It's only Internet Explorer that's giving me this problem. Is there anything I can do (within the first installation) to change Internet Explorer's resolution?

There should be a zoom feature at the bottom right of IE, Failing that press the Ctrl key and use your scroll wheel to zoom in or out!!

Have a look on the bottom right and check the percentage resolution. Mine happens to be set to 150% because I have low vision.
